Cookies recalled due to undeclared milk
25 June - USA: Price Chopper Supermarket is recalling three varieties of Burst Cookies in all of the chain's in-store bakeries, due to the presence of milk, a known allergen, which was not declared on the ingredient label.
The Burst Cookies, Brownie, Almond and Raspberry flavoured are frozen cookies produced by Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery and baked in store.
The presence of milk was discovered by one of Price Chopper's corporate quality assurance agents who traced it back to inaccurate ingredient label information submitted by Jacqueline's Wholesale Bakery to the chain in September 2012, leading to the recall to include product with sell-by dates of 5 September 2012 through 21 June 2013.
