Peanut Butter recalled due to aflatoxin levels
April 20 - New Zealand: Homebrand Crunchy Peanut Butter has been recalled after product testing found aflatoxins at levels higher than the regulatory limits.
All recalled product has been sold at Countdown, SuperValue and Fresh Choice Supermarkets throughout New Zealand and not distributed abroad.
Homebrand ‘Crunchy’ Peanut Butter is sold in 375 gram and 1kg jars and affected product have a ‘Best Before’ date marking of 17 January 2014.
The levels of aflatoxins found are not considered a safety risk, according to the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries.
