Listeria concern forces Publix recall
1 April - US: Publix Super Markets is recalling Publix Deli Tri Fruit and Grain Salad after being told by their supplier that the product may be adulterated with listeria monocytogenes.
The product, supplied by Allison's Gourmet Kitchens, was distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
It was sold in pre-packaged 12 ounce containers, and this recall involves those sold from December 2012 through 26 March.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product, said the firm.
Publix is privately owned and operated by its 157,500 employees, with 2012 sales of $27.5bn and 1,070 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
