Canadian retailer recalls ground beef over E.coli fears
5 June - A Canadian retailer has initiated a recall for ground beef over concerns the product is contaminated with E.coli O157:H7.
The affected products – regular ground beef and lean ground beef – were sold in plastic bags of varying weight on 31 May 2012 from the Kabul Farms store in Ontario.
“There have been no confirmed illnesses associated with the consumption of this product,” said the notice.
“The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall,” the notice added.
