The standard, which has been designed for individual packaging materials, will change its name in accordance with the arrangement to IFS PACsecure.
“While we firmly believe that PACsecure is the world’s foremost standard for primary and secondary packaging, a large proportion of the international food industry will only accept packaging that is recognised by the Paris, France-based Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI),” said PAC CEO James Downham.
IFS PACsecure will be submitted for Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarking and made available around the world to ensure the safety and quality of packaging materials for the food industry, the company added.
“IFS has fully demonstrated its expertise to partner with us in this endeavour. It is already the owner of the GFSI benchmarked IFS Food Standard, the IFS Logistics and other supply chain standards with more than 12,000 certifications globally.”
