Conference to debate saturated fat in dairy
A one-day conference will debate the latest science on milk fat and policy options for reducing – or taxing – the levels of saturated fats on dairy.
A raft of scientific studies have linked saturated fat to increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Dairy products are a major source of this fat in the diet – but of other important nutrients too.
The conference, organised by European Dairy Association (EDA) and the Danish Dairy Board (in co-operation with the Danish Agriculture and Food Council) will take place in Brussels on 25th September.
Key topics of discussion will be:
- The latest science on milk fat
- The relevance and policy options for saturated fat.
- The proposed introduction of a saturated fat levy in Denmark.
