AlphaRx Inc., an American company involved in the development of new drug formulations, announced on June 6, the introduction of OraEase, a new dietary supplement to reduce symptoms and promote the repair of periodontal disease. About one third of the American adult population suffers from periodontal diseases. These are prevalent in smokers and diabetes and osteoporosis patients. OraEase's primary ingredient is CoEnzyme Q10, a vitamin-like compound integral to normal cellular function. Periodontal disease patients suffer from a sufficiency in CoQ10 in gum tissues and leukocytes. Scientific research has shown that CoQ10 reduce the signs and symptoms of periodontal disease including bleeding, inflammation and pocket depth. Unlike other CoQ10 supplements, which are not water-soluble, solubilised OraEase lozenges, incorporating AlphaRx's clinically proven bioadhesive drug delivery system, gradually dissolve in the mouth over 20-30 minutes, and produce sustained CoQ10 absorption and penetration of 2-3 hours period of time. OraEase also contains Vitamin C, Vitamin E, anti-inflammatory herbal extracts and Beta-Sistosterol, a compound promoting the reduction of tooth mobility, swollen gums and the repair of tooth-supporting bone. OraEase is formulated with natural menthol to promote fresh breath and to produce an invigorating oral sensation. "OraEase is a great product. It is probably the only dietary supplement available on the market specifically formulated to promote oral health," said Michael Lee, President of AlphaRx. Source: AlphaRx
