Israeli company Gadot Biochemical Industries, a manufacturer of food ingredients and fine chemicals, this week announced the launch of a new product line in the United States. The company has developed a line of calcium, magnesium and zinc citrates for food and beverage fortification. The citrates are based on citric acid, a common organic metabolite. Gadot claims the new products Gadocal+, Gadomag+ and Gadozinc+ provide a valuable combination of bioavailability, mineral content, organoleptic characteristics, solubility and purity. Saul Koder, VP BusinessDevelopment for Gadot commented, "Our new product line is suited for the treatment of citrus-based beverages, reducing in some cases the amount of acidulants required. These citrate based minerals provide the solubility (up to 20%) and mineral content for liquid products, even in applications that are clear.''
