New Zealand?s dairy industry reported record exports during November, strongdemand abroad and thriving milk production are likely reasons for such healthyfigures. Last month, the number of exported milk-product shipments reached160,000 metric tons. The value of those shipments is estimated to be NZ$760million (US$320.44 million), nearly equal to a year?s worth of wool fibreexports from New Zealand. Products were sent to 167 ports in 86 nations, thedairy export monopoly said. The current dairy season is predicted to exceed1.5 million metric tons, worth NZ$6.2 billion.New Zealand ranks second in global ranking for dairy exports with 22 per centof the world?s dairy exports originating from the island nation.
