PepsiCo, the soft drinks and snack food group, is once again the favourite to buy Quaker Oats after French group Danone and U.S drinks giant Coca-Cola, ruled themselves out of bidding for the company, the Financial Times reported. Quaker dismissed the Pepsi offer three weeks ago and may be hesitant about reconsidering a new offer from the company. Analysts said Pepsi was the only remaining bidder that could mount a credible offer for Quaker. Nestle, the Swiss consumer group, would be interested in owning Gatorade sports drinks but would be reluctant to take on Quaker's cereals. Quaker declined to comment last week, the paper continued.
