BerryPharma AG, European Red Fruit Compound Supplier
BerryPharma manufactures, markets and distributes proprietary nutritional ingredients, which are sold worldwide to manufacturers of products in the health- and functional foods, beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
Headquartered in Appenzell (Switzerland), this privately held company was founded in 1999. BerryPharma has has established a fruit chain supply which extends across Europe and includes fruit growers, cold store warehousing, fruit processing and extraction. The fruit chain supply is organised on the basis of sustainability for the grower and each phase is controlled by laboratory testing.
BerryPharma is specialised in red & black berry extracts containing Anthocyanins, including Elderberry, Blackcurrant, Bilberry, Chokeberry (Aronia) and Cranberry extracts.
We offer unique and proprietary food standard manufacturing technologies which enable us to supply companies in both the Food Supplement and OTC markets according to the varying regulatory requirements.
BerryPharma has its origins dating back 30 years. It started with the sustainable management of cultivated elderberry from Austria. Contract Growers have supplied the high yielding Haschberg Elderberry variety as the basis for high quality end products which are supplied worldwide. We are also able to supply organic and conventional quality. The focus on elderberry supply management has been supported over the years by clinical trials to support health claims. Today, BerryPharma is able to offer other products with the benefits of membrane filtration or ethanol extraction - always supported by documentation and analytical data including HPLC. We actively work with our customers with formulation ideas and development of concepts.
In summary, we initially developed products from Elderberry in the 1980s and have subsequently used our experience and technology for Bilberry, Black Currant and Aronia.
