New concepts from WILD

19-Nov-2001

German ingredients company WILD presented new concepts for the confectionery, bakery and ice cream industries at this year's FIE in London this month.

The range extends from organically grown raw materials and functional ingredients to technological innovations.

In keeping with the current consumer trend towards health products WILD has developed confectionery ingredients with additional health benefits.

WILD announced that the next generation of vitamin-enhanced products is now ready to enter the market.

According to information published by the German Nutrition Society (DGE) in Frankfurt, folic acid - one of the B vitamins - in particular, is in short supply in Germany. Folic acid is essential for cell division and also reduces the risk of arteriosclerosis.

WILD presented hard caramels and jelly gums at FIE that contain the F-ACE protection vitamins (Folic acid plus ACE) and the heart vitamins (folic acid, B6 and B12).

WILD has also developed new product concepts for the dedicated user of bio products. The company presented bio bars, bio hard caramels and bio jelly gums at this year's FIE. These innovations are now suitable for full commercial production for the first time. Two popular taste varieties - lemon and orange - have been chosen, since they are readily available and are also in line with the bio user's demand for well-known tastes.
