Treatt not so bananas

14-Nov-2001

UK flavour specialist Treatt promoted its new natural banana distillate at the FiE in London last week.

The company boasts that recent have confirmed the benefit of using its natural banana distillate to develop products with an authentic fresh banana taste.

Banana Treattarome™ 9730 is 100 per cent natural, derived from the named food (FTNF) and can provide, Treatt claims in a statement, a banana character to numerous applications including beverages, alcoholic drinks, juices and dairy products.

Naturally enhanced levels of pentan-2-yl and isoamyl esters ensure a good character impact. Phenolics such as eugenol and elimicin create spicy, smoky and fleshy nuances that may be missing from traditional banana aromas. Higher levels of these less volatile components ensure that this product is tenacious in use.

The Treattarome range of specialty, FTNF, soluble distillates is produced using an array of specialist technologies, including short duration/low temperature distillation which ensures the character of the distillate resembles the original, fresh food.

Treatt manufactures and supplies a range of innovative products including essential oils, their natural fractions and aromatic chemicals for the flavour and fragrance industries.
