FSA seeks researchers on climate change and food

The UK’s Food Standards Agency is planning a review of the effect of climate change on food, and how this will affect its remit – and is advertising for researchers to conduct it.

The FSA says that climate change will have an impact on all aspects of its remit. The review, which falls under the Cross Cutting Themes Programme for agency-wide issues, will cover issues such as foodborne disease and risks to consumer health through chemical contamination.

“This project should consider how climate change could impact on the Agency’s ability to deliver its vision of safe and healthy food for all.”
