The new model has been published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society - Biological Sciences.
It was developed to look specifically at the impact of pollen from Monsanto’s Bt-maize Mon 810 on butterflies like the European Peacock and the Red Admiral, and the Diamondback moth. Butterflies and moths are ‘non-target’ organisms of Mon 810, which is intended to protect crops from the corn borer pest.
