Saudi-based company Almarai has partnered with Oystar Gasti in a deal that will help fulfill continuing consumer demand for high quality dairy products in the Gulf.

In order to keep up a smooth manufacturing process and reduce product wastage along the production line, Almarai ordered new Contitherm 123 cup filling and sealing machines for the company, a branch of the German Oystar Group.

Both companies hope the deal will benefit their growth within the Middle East, as well as strengthen their global reputations.

Dr Heinrich Sielemann, managing director for Oystar Gasti, said: “This deal will strengthen our position in the Middle East market region and supports us in our market strategy in this growing region. Almarai is a leading food group in this region and other companies might be attracted to invest in our solutions. First signals we have already received from potential customers in that region.”

The Contitherm 123 machines were chosen due to their ability to provide efficient filling and packing. With a capacity of 28,000 cups per hour, Oystar claims the Contitherm 123 is the fastest continuous motion machine in the world for filling products in both liquid and paste form.

The new product to be added to the Almarai production line reaffirms a solid partnership between the Oystar Group and the dairy manufacturer, with the latest order being one of many to be fulfilled between the two companies. Currently, Almarai also uses butter wrapping and butter mini-portion packing machines from Oystar Benhil and Oystar Hassia, an FFS machine for cream cheese by Oystar Erca-Formseal, and end-of-line-packing machines from Oystar A+F.

Dr Sielemann said: “This deal underlines our very good business relationship which lasts already for many years. It will grow our understanding in the needs of Almarai and drives the necessary developments for continuous improvements in our packaging machine technology. Respectively we will engineer tailored and efficient solutions for Almarai to maintain their competitiveness.”
