Company CEO, chairman and president George Deese said: “Our business continues to be strong despite the economic slowdown.”
Flowers reaffirmed that it expects its sales for the 2008 fiscal year to rise by 18.8 to 19.3 per cent, from $113.6m to $117.3m. It also said that it expects to see a sales increase of between 12.2 and 14 per cent in 2009.
Flowers Foods operates 39 bakeries across the States, producing bread, snack cakes and pastries.
