In a statement to the Australian stock exchange the company said it wanted to focus on growing its egg business.
"Farm Pride believes that given its pursuit of developing a fully integrated national egg production and marketing business, others were better placed to devote the time and resources to maximising the potential of the snackfood business," chief executive Zelko Lendich said.
Total estimated proceeds from the sale are A$4.2 million, including retained debtors and creditors. He said the funds received would be used towards working capital, debt reduction and further growth opportunities in the egg industry.
Golden Days, which makes sesame seed and fruit-based snacks, will be added to a stable of domestic and foreign brands supplied by privately owned Manassen Foods to the country's supermarkets.
