Nestlé CEO stresses private sector’s role in sustainable development
The private sector has a role to play in delivering the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, said Nestlé CEO Paul Bulcke at the EAT Stockholm Food Forum this morning.

The goals are 15-year targets to help shape political agendas among UN member states, which are set to back the goals in September. They build on Millennium Development Goals, which are due to expire at the end of the year, and cover a broad range of sustainability-related issues, from ending poverty, to improving nutrition and protecting biodiversity.

“Now is the time for all of us to find ways to work together, share ideas and solutions and form partnerships to create the kind of world, and the kind of opportunities that future generations deserve,” Bulcke said.

“The cornerstones of these collaborations must be transparency, trust, respect, and a shared sense of purpose for a better world.”
