Nestlé opens giant milk plant in Thailand

05-Sep-2001

Swiss food giant Nestle Group has given the struggling Thai economy a vote of confidence, opening a 1.5-billion-baht (38.40m euros) canned milk factory to boost export capacity, the Bangkok Post reports this week.

The plant is the largest canned milk plant run by Nestle worldwide. The plant will make canned liquid-milk products including sweetened condensed, evaporated, and sterilised milk and beverage creamer for the domestic and international markets.
