Dairy UK partners with WRAP to promote water efficiency

Last updated on 08-Jan-2013 at 14:36 GMT

Dairy UK has signed an agreement to become an official partner to the Federation House Commitment (FHC) – a voluntary commitment to reduce water use.

Dairy UK, which represents the interests of the entire UK dairy supply chain, entered into the agreement with WRAP with the aim of promoting greater awareness of water efficiency within the dairy industry.

A number of Dairy UK members, including Arla Foods, Dairy Crest, First Milk, Müller Dairy and Müller Wiseman Dairies, have been already been recruited to the FHC

The FHC asks participants to develop water reduction plans, and in return offers access to expert advice and site visits.

“This partnership demonstrates our industry’s commitment to reducing its water consumption and will build upon and compliment the water reduction targets already set by the industry’s own Dairy Roadmap,” said Dairy UK director, Jim Begg.
