DD Williamson has developed a certified organic annatto extract in water soluble powdered form for providing yellow-orange shades to foods and beverages, the company has said.
“The dry coloring form gives food product developers an addition to their organic ingredient toolkit,” said applications scientist Jody Renner-Nantz. “Organic applications include natural cheese, dairy beverage mix, snacks, seasoning, baking mix and confections.”
On US ingredient statements, the ingredient would be labeled “organic annatto extract”.
The new product adds a dry option to DD Williamson’s range of certified organic annatto extracts in liquid form, which include water soluble, oil soluble, and oil soluble suspension versions.
