Danish fats and oils company Aarhus Oliefabrik launched at the FiE this week its new look web site. Although currently providing news and ingredients information the first electronic customer services are scheduled to go online by the end of the year, with additional packages planned for introduction in 2002.
The company claims that the e-service launch is expected to be among the first of its kind within the international speciality fats and oils industry.
The initial services will enable customers to look up personalised product information, seek technical advice and explore relevant commodities trends.
In the future, it will be possible to check orders already placed and the status of contracts. The final step will be an online ordering service where orders can be placed night or day throughout the week - either via a mouse-click or system integration with key customers.
