Corbion N.V. has acquired the lactic acid business from Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) for an undisclosed cash sum, the company said on Friday.

The deal, effective March 31 2015, includes the sales and delivery of lactic acid, sodium lactate and potassium lactate products, but does not include production facilities or personnel.

Corbion said production would be absorbed in its existing facilities, and added that the acquisition would “further strengthen Corbion’s position in this market”.
