Natural ingredients group Wild has improved its distribution network by opening a new logistics centre in Eppelheim, Germany.

The state-of the-art facility was opened on Friday to coincide with the Anuga FoodTec expo in Cologne, and comes on-line ready for Wild's busiest season of the year.

The warehouse, which took 15 months to build, should enable Wild to offer a more efficient and reliable supply of ingredients to its customers.

The group produces 350,000 tonnes of finished goods, including compounds, flavours and fruit solutions, at Eppelheim every year. Capri Sun juice drinks are also filled there.

Wild said its new distribution centre could receive or send out up to 200 pallets per hour, thanks to its 15,000 bays for tanks and pallets and high rack format.

Product quality will be maintained in the warehouse in a climate-controlled zone.
