The proposed three-way merger between French groups Vivendi and Canal Plus and Montreal-based Seagram group has been given the go ahead by US regulators. Seagram, the entertainment and spirits group, hopes that the transaction will be completed by the end of November this year. The merger is now awaiting the green light from European regulators.
