Sensient Technologies Corp., Milwaukee, Wisc. announced this week that it hashalted negotiations with Paris-based Lesaffre et Compagnie regarding the saleof the company's Red Star Yeast division, BakingBusiness.com reports. The twocompanies had signed a Letter of Intent in August for the proposedtransaction. According to the original agreement, Lesaffre would have paid$125 million in cash for Red Star.
According to Sensient, talks werecalled off when the companies could not agree on purchase terms, designed toaddress concerns raised by the U.S. Department of Justice.
