Realkredit Danmark has awarded Danish companies that have gone to extra lengths over their emissions. Palsgaard is one of 18 regional winners, and one of three to go forward to a national competition to be decided on 6th January.
The company has reduced its oil consumption significantly – and consequently its emissions – by building a straw-fired burner. Eighty per cent of the straw burned is from the company’s own land.
This, together with other measures like intelligent light control, has let Palsgaard reduce its CO2 emissions by 3,735 MT per year – equivalent to approximately 1250 MT of oil.
