Called The Exchange, the centre is located in Bedfordshire and is expected to be completed by January 2011.
It will bring together academia, SMEs and other life science companies to drive technology transfer. Funding of £13.7 million has come from the Goodman:Unilever joint venture and the East of England Development Agency (EEDA).
Amongst the organizations to have a space on the site is IFR Extra, a subsidiary of the Institute of Food Research which conducts short-term food research projects, consultancy and specialist analysis for companies. Others include the Cranfield School of Management and Cambridge University’s Institute for Manufacturing.
