Lonza, the Swiss speciality chemicals company, announced yesterday it is to sell its new additives plant in Singapore. The 70,000 tonne a year isophthalic acid plant, which cost $130m to build, is part of Lonza's intermediates and additives division, now renamed performance chemicals and polymer intermediates. The company also reported a 6 per cent rise in first-half net income to SFr141m ($82m), on a growth in sales to SFr1.1bn.
