Arbenz is currently executive director of IFOAM member organization BioSuisse, a position he says has given him insight in all aspects of leading a democratic organization. He stressed the importance of keeping “a balance between the interests of all the stakeholders and enacting the vision of transforming the whole agricultural sector to sustainable organic practices”.
Commenting on his new role heading up the 15-strong staff at FOAM, Arbenz said: “I want sustainable land and animal use for the betterment of all to be a reality this century, and working as IFOAM’s executive director will give me an opportunity to help make that vision a reality.”
He added that he is “excited to build links with the people from the organic movement all over”.
