US product and technology development company TIAX has launched the Center for Food Reformulation that will focus on improving the health aspect of foods.

Manned by people from a range of fields including chemistry, biology, food science and sensory science, the centre aims to assist food and beverage, foodservice and food ingredient companies in reformulating their products 'to be healthier and more consumer friendly'.

"The centre is an important initiative for TIAX," said Kenan Sahin, president of the company born from Arthur D. Little's technology and innovation business.

"The centre will build upon the distinguished work in food and nutrition conducted for more than a century by Arthur D. Little's food technologists," said Jeff Worthington, head of TIAX's food, health, and nutrition area.
