US Nutraceuticals, a manufacturer of supercritical fluid extracts for the dietary supplement, nutraceutical and functional food industries, has acquired the astaxanthin business of La Haye Laboratories, a Washington manufacturer of branded dietary supplement ingredients.
La Haye, founded in 1986, is engaged in researching, manufacturing and marketing novel, high-potency antioxidants, including its patented astaxanthin and xanthin ingredients. Both ingredients are natural antioxidants used in dietary supplements and cosmeceutical skincare products.
"This acquisition further entrenches our position in the marketplace for proprietary, branded ingredients offering novel characteristics to consumer products manufacturers," said US Nutraceuticals president Tony Evans.
La Haye Laboratories president Larry Line sees the acquisition as a powerful and positive development for both companies. "US Nutraceuticals adds the pioneering scientific technology, marketing strength and business development resources needed to optimise the leading positions of La Haye Laboratories' core brands," claimed Line.
