The awards are made every two years by the European Commission, to companies that have made an outstanding contribution to sustainable development in four categories: management, products, processes, and international cooperation.
Altogether 141 entries were received, from 24 EU and candidate countries.
UK-based The Findus Group has been shortlisted in the management category, “for implementing a management system to ensure that profits do not come at the expense of depleted resources in the highly sensitive fisheries sector”.
The winner will be announced in Brussels on 2nd June, during Green Week.
