FSA announces GM steering group members

The FSA has named the group members of a steering group that will shape and manage forthcoming consumer dialogue work on genetic modification (GM) in food.

John Curtice, Professor of Politics and Director of the Social Statistics, from the University of Strathclyde will chair the group. The other steering group members will be Dr Guy Barker, Garth Boyd, Professor Ian Crute, Alan Hedges, Lindsey Kearton, Paul Rooke, Professor Geraldine Schofield, Dr Jack Stilgoe, Professor Joyce Tait, Dr Helen Wallace and Professor Brian Wynne.

The GM steering group is a 12-month project designed to uncover consumer understanding of GM and its potential risks and benefits. The group will hold its first meeting on 25–26 November.
