China's egg industry has won over the trust of European authorities on egg products who believe rosy market prospects could lie ahead, reports the Xinhua News Agency.
Clive Frampton, chairman of the International Egg Commission, said the country's achievements in modernising its egg industry were amazing and he never expected China's economy could be so vigorous and dynamic.
According to the Xinhua report, the group of European researchers, including Frampton, had embarked on a 10-day tour of China's major farms, egg and poultry companies in Shenyang, Dalian, Shanghai and Beijing.
. The International Egg Commission granted one farm company membership to the Commission after inspecting its premises. The Dalian-based Hanwei Group is the first company to receive such qualification in China.
In comparison with European firms, Frampton said, the Hanwei Group had a bigger capacity in the production of pollutant-free eggs, whose proportion to total output was as much as 20 per cent, far beyond the average of European enterprises.
He added that Chinese egg production enjoyed lower costs which, combined with the higher processing rates and smoother distribution channels of Europe, would produce huge market returns.
