EHL introduces Mexican oregano for 'authentic' Latin American flavour

Post a comment05-Mar-2013

EHL Ingredients has introduced dried Mexican oregano to the UK food market on the back of customer demand for an authentic Mexican variety of the herb.

The company says the variety has a stronger taste than other oregano types with a hint of citrus, and works well with spicy foods and ingredients like cumin, paprika and chillies, so is ideal for incorporation in Tex-Mex and Latin American foods.

EHL Ingredients’ sales director Tasneem Backhouse said in a statement: “Mexican food is reaching new heights of success in the UK, both within in-home dining and eating out. Consumers love the freshness, value, range of flavours and speed associated with the cuisine so food manufacturers and dining outlets should ensure they are using authentic ingredients to guarantee a successful product.”
