The BRC standard is a private standard that was originally drawn up by supermarkets in the UK. It has now gained recognition in the international market for the safety and quality assurances it provides, and may be used as a requirement for doing business.
The certification adds to CNI’s existing quality schemes. Since 2003 it has held ISO 901 certification (and ISO 902 since 1995), has a HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points) programme in place, and also offers organic products certified by ECOCERT.
