Confectionery fats supplier AarhusKarlshamn (AAK) is expanding its presence in the German market.
Torben Friis Lange, president of the chocolate and confectionery fats division of AAK, told ConfectioneryNews.com that the opening of a sales office in Dusseldorf will help strengthen its position in that country and underscore its sales strategy for the wider market.
In terms of further European expansion, Lange said the company had a “very aggressive growth target”, but could not reveal any further plans.
The vegetable fats produced by AAK are used as substitute for butter-fat and cocoa butter, and trans-free ingredients for fillings in chocolate and confectionery products.
The supplier has production facilities in Denmark, Mexico, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK, Uruguay and the US.
